It's not an assumption, it's the logical conclusion you reach from reading the forums and looking at the situation in-game. Have you seen what people post in PuG vs. Hench threads? Most of the people playing this game just don't like each other for various reasons.

The whole "heroes are ruining community" argument is false, and it's been rehashed again and again in different threads. The introduction of heroes wouldn't make a damn bit of difference if people actually wanted to play with each other.

Same to you: just "cos" you don't like playing on your own (for whatever reason), don't think everyone "is like it". Between the two of us, which one do you think is the minority opinion? Take a look around and ask yourself: do more people play alone or with other people?

The reason is that people are too stupid, lazy, or both to find an existing thread and post in that.

Seriously, we should just sticky the old threads and lock any new ones that pop up. It's honestly getting pretty ridiculous and I don't know why the mods don't deal with this more actively.

I don't see your point. Is your argument that there are too many players? Too many locations? All I get from your anecdote is that people had hacked gear and hated PKers ... neither one has any bearing on GW.

Being young implies a lot of other undesirable qualities: mental immaturity, low general understanding (of anything), emotional volatility, etc. Sure, there are a few exceptional kids that act like they're middle-age with some experience under their belt, but the majority of kids playing online games are penis-drawers and noob-spammers that don't give a shit about anyone else and can't even grasp basic english, let alone game mechanics.

As for elitism, the word is over/misused. While elitism obviously exists to some extent, that small group of people that continuously claim they are right actually *are* right most of the time.

May I ask how you have played for 2/1-2 years?

The only possible way is that you are counting the betas. The oldest possible account age is 21 months as of February 07. (As all account ages got refreshed upon release)

Back on topic. Heroes are useless. Hench are useless. People do the job better in my honest opinion..Although they are some times that hench's can be better.

in chapter 4 they have to raise the level cap, and let heroes not be able to progress further.

3. PvE players are not organized
In PvP its common to communicate about builds and talk things over. In PvE its not. Even in guilds you hardly see parties doing PvE missions. Probably because you don't really know each other.

4. The fun parties are those with friends
Friends from real life and those you know for years from other games. How many of you have 5 or more real friends in the game?

5.The Spirit of the age
Today, young people are multitaskers. They perform many things at the same time: Playing a computer game, watching tv, answering a cell-phone call. They are used to do things quickly for a short period of time. They often lack concentration for long online sessions, e.g. for doing hard missions. They loose interest very quickly. They hob from game to game. How many inactive players are there in your guild?
I'm going to quote you by number because my head is aching after trying to find 200 photos on a 5 year old mac.

1: I agree that this game is very big, but I don't mind it. I started gaming about that time, when I was about 10. I played a game called 'Ashen Empires' (formally known as Dransik). There was 2 servers, one pve other pvp. About 50-100 active players per server(depending on peak times).
It was such a fun experience knowing everyone; and having 'top pvp guilds' ect.

2: I have one thing to say to those who refuse to party with young people(and I do not intend to sound biased)...Look at me for example-I'm 14, and I moderate Guru-and have done for nearly 2 years-since I was 12 years old. I'm not bragging or anything, but try to look at it this way-Do you really think I would have became a moderator if I was stereotyped as a so called 'kid who has no idea how to play games or appear mature?'

If one thing happens involving a young guy/girl who made a mistake, then it's human nature to blame that bad incident on something you can pick on.(Which in theory is a cause for racism). If one young guy or girl does something bad, then they will more than likely tell there guild-and then there guild will spread the word among friends if it happens to them; ect ect.(Stereotyping people).

3: I utmost agree. From personal experience; PUGS seem very unorganized.
Sometimes they can get the job done; other times they can't. I tend to disagree on the guild part. If you join a guild who prioritizes PvE; then you should expect to be organized in PvE-for example discussing tactics prior to mission. If you are in a mainly PvE guild and you just go in randomly then their is something wrong unless you just need the mission finishing. I have the same view on PvP; if you are referring to GvG.

4: I agree but with some different aspects. If you make good friends in game and know each other quite personally (by means of Ventrilo/Teamspeak) then you can have just as much fun as if playing with RL friends. Also alot of people use games as an escape from reality-so you don't have to worry about getting bitten by your RL friends for something you done/said in game.

5: Alot of people can multi task-it's a fact.... but personally if your planning to multi task whilst playing hardcore GW then my advice to you is to play a single player game where your actions RL do not waste time/put bad fortune of fellow players in your party.

---
I hope I've stretched my points enough..I'll keep an eye on this thread in case anyone wants to discuss the above.

Hehe..no problem. It's great to see a fellow beta tester still around (= Were you there from day 1 of the betas? If so can you remember your character name then? I may recognize you, I stagged around in Pre-Searing Ascalon(City version not current version) when not constantly remaking different character classes to test out which I found best

Thanks.
Ashleigh.

No, not day 1, i got into it from a GAME managers conference in early November 2004, they gave out 3 beta keys... I got the first one and they actually had to force out the other two...

I was playing CoH back then and as soon as I played GW I quit my CoH subscription

Oh and even at 14, if you need a hand ingame, msg me and i'll join you anytime... Age doesn't bother me, Maturity does! I've met mature 14year olds and immature 30yr olds in game... Thats the way the game goes

Cool-and Thanks

By day 1 I mean first public beta....you could sign up and get a free beta key for the weekends. That stopped at about the 6th or 7th weekend when they started only allowing people who pre-ordered or people using friend keys from pre-ordered play. Hehe..where you there at the start of the beta finale? Hehe.. I woke up at 8am GMT just to see it The Wurms were huge and the fireworks...yay I really do miss them days-it was really something to remember.

After coming back to guildwars after more than half a year ... yeah i noticed the community sucks. Nobody wants to do missions, everywhere is empty and if you dont have factions/nightfall you dont have skills that others players have and you DONT. sucks. i already quit :d
